In partnership with San Francisco–based agency Big Bad Goose, we designed a unified advertising ecosystem for Walmart. With multiple channels—store TVs, e-commerce, and mobile apps—Walmart needed a single solution to manage its vast and complex ad operations.

The mission

Our mission was to create a streamlined Ads Manager that simplifies campaign management, empowers advertisers with control over their targeting, and delivers a frictionless, user-centric experience.

Audience Builder

Making Audience Creation Effortless

We placed the Audience Creator at the heart of the design. This feature allows advertisers to easily define demographics with full control over criteria like age, location, interests, and purchasing behaviors. Iterative prototyping and research guided the development of an interface that simplifies audience definition and makes targeting intuitive for every user.

Segment Creator

Intuitive Tools for Smarter Segmentation

Segmentation is key to effective advertising, so we focused on building an Intuitive Segment Creator. Using drag-and-drop functionality and customizable filters, advertisers can quickly create, adjust, and manage segments. This human-centered approach not only saves time but also helps users uncover new market opportunities and refine their campaign strategies.

Onboarding

Removing Barriers for New Users

Starting from scratch can be daunting, so we built a guided Cold Start experience. Complex tasks are broken into clear, manageable steps, with helpful instructions and personalized recommendations powered by adaptive learning. This ensures a smooth onboarding process and gets advertisers confidently running campaigns in no time.
